  • color-coded name tags for each of three student groups
 
  • backpack
  • water in small unbreakable container
  • day’s agenda
 
  • lunch with as little disposable packaging as possible
  • first aid kit
 
  • tabi (preferably the sock type that clings to ankles and calves) OR athletic shoes and socks that can get dirty and wet.
  • trash bag
  • hat
  • sunscreen
 
  • shorts and t-shirt that can get dirty and wet
  • lunch and water in backpack
 
  • hat
  • rain jacket
 
  • sunscreen
  • cellular phone (optional)
 
  • rain jacket
  • mosquito repellant
 
  • extra change of clothes – in case of rain
  • liquid soap
 
  • plastic bag for damp or dirty clothes
  • paper towels
 
  • mosquito repellant
  • 4 clipboards with 3 plant hunt sheets on each
 
  • nametag
  • 4 pencils attached to clipboards
   
  • digital camera (for taking pictures during the field trip)
   
  • binoculars (optional)If students will be planting* in the marsh
   
  • you will need enough of the following for one-third of the class
   
  • garden gloves
   
  • small hand towels
